cassa and i recently had the pleasure of photographing our favorite coffee shop, le zinque. i go here as much as possible because they have the best latte in venice!

they have a great aesthetic here. it’s nice and bright and they have some great seating in the corner- prime spot!
this latte is so beautiful, it makes it hard to drink.
they have almond milk, so it’s another bonus for me because i don’t like regular milk or soy.

next time your in venice, i recommend that you stop by! hey- did i mention they have great food and happy hour? thats right, this place becomes a wine bar at night. score!

office space

happy monday! i know, i know- mondays don’t always feel happy, but i like to get my week started off on a good note. so here are a couple of office spaces that inspire me this morning. my office certainly doesn’t look like these, but I am planning a bit of an office makeover- because let’s face it, its hard to be productive in a drab space. hope you get inspired to give your work space a little pep.

a fresh start // 2013 de-cluttering

Here are some items I have my eye on to help de-clutter all areas of my home.  When I get home from a long day of work, I want to drop my keys, take off my shoes and shower my family with hugs and kisses.  Then it’s time to make dinner, help with homework, put The Boy to bed and clean up his path of destruction, then get The Girls off to bed.  And sometime between all that and getting myself to bed at a decent hour, I want to relax with my husband in a space that feels somewhat grown-up.  I try desperately to keep the living room both stylish and baby-safe while also trying to accomplish functionality.  That’s why I think the metal coffee table from RH would be a completely functioning replacement for my current coffee table. Not only is it sharp edge-free, it’s beautiful AND I can easily hide all The Boy’s toys!  And let’s not forget there is no fabric; thus being stain-proof!  Win-win-win!  Another product worth mentioning is the cotton canvas toy bag from Cox & Cox. I love that its sturdy handles allowing for The Boy to drag off his book case and also cute enough to display it there!

What are some of your favorite items to help organize and simplify your life?

sundays were made to stroll around and drink coffee, so we like to go to our favorite areas and puruse the shops with a good cup of coffee in-hand. here’s the perfect way to be casual yet cute, because you never know where the day might take you.
i’m all about layering different patterns! and i had my eye on these splatter pants for a while, so when i saw them on sale at nordstrom, i decided that it was too good a deal to pass up. how cute is the chambray lining on the jacket, too? the leather goes quite well, making for a nice texture mix in addition.
these dainty rings make me melt.

oh joy geronimo

The joy’s of New Year’s resolutions — whoever keeps them; I mean really?  I already tried to eat better, exercise more and spend less the year before (and the year before that…and for the last several years), so why put myself through the stress of failing (again)! I think Ralph Waldo Emerson put it perfectly when he said “Write it on your heart that every day is the best day in the year.”  So instead of making technical resolutions,  I’ve given myself goals that are actually attainable.  Such as…

Get these adorable tiny toms (tiny toms burnt orange) for The Boy!

Take the kids to museums more often (as in here, here, and here)… (and here).

Take a day trip to this charming Inn and then to the nearby beach.

Have a glass of champagne at newest champagne bar on the Sonoma Plaza.

See a concert at the Uptown in Napa.

Go to Berkeley more often.  Especially here for the best selection of groceries; in which case I’ll need more of these nifty bags.

Open this book.

Get caught up on our favorite shows (Dexter, Breaking Bad, Shameless True Blood).  And start Homeland!

Go on a family vacation to maui.

Take off for the weekend without kids!  I’m thinking here, here or here.

Make something new from my favorite cookbook.  And try this new restaurant since it’s like a block from my house.

And lastly, do nothing except drink bottomless cups of French Pressed coffee.

What about you guys? How are your resolutions going so far?
